Two first anniversaries

I have a few twenty-four hours under my belt now, but I can still remember that first birthday and its rewards. I didn't want to tell anyone it was coming, for fear I'd blow it. Fortunately, someone found out (I guess I really let it slip), and they presented me with that gorgeous cake with my name spelled out in colorful icing. The beauty was, they felt I'd earned it. I took part of the cake home to share with my husband and two teenage boys. They, too, were proud. After we ate, I still had a one-year medallion.
