The Support We All Need

THE SPEAKER DRAWLED, "And honey, you just keep your hanths off me. You're definitely not my type." He flicked a limp wrist at his audience and mimicked the popular stereotype of the gay male. His audience laughed. A stand-up comic on a 1960's variety show? No, a speaker at a large open meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. And five gay recovering alcoholics who were there looked at one another and didn't laugh.
