Just Not Drinking
He had followed a simple program, and the rewards were much greater than
I STOOD in front of over 100 people, all friends, with a birthday cake, and eleven candles flickering. It seemed such a paradox, yet it was another manifestation of a miracle. I was eleven years old in the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, and at that moment, I felt like an eleven-year-old and enjoyed the feeling.
