In the spirit of anonymity

Along with the respect we are asked to pay to the anonymity principle, there is a corresponding, although rarely explicitly expressed, understanding of the confidential nature of anythingwe hear at an AA meeting. Unfortunately, at least in this member's experience, this latter point is not always observed by all our members. Only recently, we heard a member describe certain marital difficulties he was having. He did not appreciate hearing about his own problem from a non-AA only a week after he had shared. That friend had been told by someone who had been at the meeting.
