Beware of the 'Yets'

I CAME INTO the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous on the first half of Step One--admitted I was powerless over alcohol. By the time I attended my first meeting, I was finally able to put the blame for all my difficulties right where it belonged, on alcohol. Not on my husband, not on my children, not on the rest of my family or friends, not on my sorry lot in life, but on alcohol. A tiny grain of honesty had enabled me to admit, also, that I had problems because I drank; that I did not drink because I had problems. I believe I was blessed with the acceptance of the fact of my alcoholism. So where did I go from there?
