Reality

Around the Tables

AROUND THE TABLES, we search for answers--not only to the problems evolved from our drinking days, but also to the current problems of living in reality. For me, living in reality means accepting the responsibilities of the moment, rather than those of the future, which may never come. It means experiencing happiness now, instead of expecting it tomorrow. As long as I stay immersed in the now, I can meet and deal with its problems. When I leave the now in an attempt to solve future problems, then I am back in the old role so aptly described in Chapter Five of the Big Book--trying to "run the whole show" and do God's work for Him.
