I MET DOLORES at my second meeting in Alcoholics Anonymous. I was the newcomer, and she was the veteran. She had six months' sobriety in the program and was actively involved in the group. Her countenance reflected the inner peace and happiness she had derived from her new life; her eyes shone with enthusiasm. I was seeking what she had achieved.
