Reclaiming the Wreckage

WHAT A RELIEF it was to come into AA and to discover that my life seemed useless and wasted largely because of an alcoholic attitude. It had led me through jails, prisons, and asylums for twenty-three years. I used to wonder why I had been singled out for this punishment. Not for one minute did I think that my drinking had anything to do with my being locked up.
