A Higher Power I Don't Understand

THE ONLY PART of the AA program in which I can claim expert status is in postponing the Third Step. For several years, I wouldn't even talk about the problem in meetings, for fear of sounding a jarring note amid the positive statements of faith. Now, I know that many others have had this same problem. The only way to help myself has been to get it out into the open, to share my difficulties and my small successes.
