Out of the Storm

MOST OF MY life, I weathered the storm of living problems by outthinking, outconning, and outrunning painful situations. I "persevered" by meeting the challenges of life with alcohol and pills. For a long time, I thought I was winning the contest. I measured my success by the size of my bank account, the amount of status and recognition achieved, and the comforts of a home and family.
