Three Years on the Bowery

AT MEETINGS, I've often heard the speaker say that his recovery is a miracle--that we AAs are all miracles. And I've thought, "So there are seventy-five miracles in this room, and you multiply this room by several hundred in the city and by thousands throughout the country and by more thousands throughout the world. Then, you compound this miracle even further when you realize this has been going on for over forty-five years." Suddenly, the miracle seems such a commonplace, I begin to suspect that "miracle" is too strong a word for what goes on in our rooms.
