Even during my phony attempts to allow AA to go in one ear and out the other, somewhere in my intoxicated brain lay bits and pieces of an honesty I was not aware of. Nor did it ever begin to surface until I let go completely, and somehow believed that a power other than myself could lend a helping hand.
