Slips

AFTER TWO and a half years of sobriety, I left AA. I went out on a slip. The night it happened, it was either throw myself under the nearest truck or go out and get good and drunk. I chose the latter. I was overcome by personal problems, and instead of turning to my friends and meetings, I turned back to that bottle that I had worked so hard to crawl out of.
