The Old Magic Came Back

Frustration and anger vanished when he got back to the mainstream of AA

IT WAS, I suppose, about six months since I had been to a meeting. Well, I had eighteen years' continuous sobriety under my belt. I read my little black book daily on the bus to work, and life was going on fairly smoothly. I had to get up at 5:30 AM and didn't get home till 8:30 PM--a hard day, but it paid well, and I had only a four-day week. Though just over sixty, I could still work. I had, I thought, a firm foundation of spiritual living and was practicing these principles in all my non-AA affairs. But not in my AA affairs, because there weren't any to speak of.
