Sense and nonsense on the road to recovery

THE GENERAL OPINION is that lushes should do their traveling on foot. The souse in this story was doing so, but being somewhat uncertain of his bearings, he was walking along the street with one foot in the gutter and the other up on the curb. Finally, a policeman stopped him and reprimanded him for his unique manner of locomotion.
