Sense and nonsense on the road to recovery

PART OF THE MYSTIQUE of the drinker seems to be the effort to hide it. S. H. of Iowa reports a new and successful method. It seems that a certain wife had invited some women friends in for an afternoon of bridge, and wanted to make sure her husband would remain sober. So she sentenced him to an afternoon of sunbathing on their lawn, in full view of the patio where the card players sat. In spite of her precautions, a few hours later the husband staggered past the ladies and into the house, visibly drunk.
