Why is there so much controversy over those who want what we have but admit to symptoms other than the consumption of alcohol? The Big Book says, "Our liquor was but a symptom." Nowhere have I found it saying that liquor is the only symptom. In the Twelve Steps, alcohol is mentioned only in the First. My alcohol problem was relieved quite some time ago. My alcoholism is my problem now.
