Confessions of a Take-charge Alcoholic

DURING MY pre-alcoholic stage, I was a joiner and was very active in garden clubs, political groups, drama societies, and various church and women's guilds. All that activity vanished, of course, when alcohol completely took over my life. For several years, I was reduced to only my sodden self for company. Consequently, when I was introduced to AA during a lengthy stay in a rehab center, I was delighted to become a member of a group again.
