Not Cured, But Healed

AA tells us there is no cure for alcoholism--and yet heals us. There is a difference between curing and healing. Healing involves our deepest reaches and creates an infinite capacity for outreach. In AA, we heal each other; it is as simple as that, and I often wonder if we fully realize this. The heart that hurts is the heart that heals, and nowhere is this more manifest than in AA.
