Recovery Is a Family Disease

ALCOHOLISM, as we all know, affects our families. Yet it is forgotten or ignored that recovery also affects our families. For years, they managed to put up with us and have learned to adjust their behavior in an attempt to keep us under control and to survive themselves. All too often, this subject is not addressed in meetings. I want to share an event that took place early in my recovery, with the hope that a similar event may be avoided by the reader.
