Around the Tables

AROUND THE TABLES, I have claimed, "I have faith that this program of Alcoholics Anonymous works." Then I sit back, wallowing in my character defects, making perhaps one or two meetings a week. "Sure, I have faith that this program really works!" As the phone rings, I quickly think of all the reasons why I can't go out on a Twelfth Step call. "It really works!" But I neglect my daily spiritual growth, my personal inventory; I leave resentments unchecked. "Faith, we must have faith," I cry.
