CONCERNING NUMBERS: L. P. of Maryland knew of a heavy drinker who bought only one half pint at a time but did so frequently. When asked by a colleague how far he lived from where they both worked, he said, "Two half pints away. I leave here with one and stop at a package liquor store for the second."
