After twenty-seven years' sobriety in AA, I am alarmed and saddened at hearing some of our members use the word "losers" to identify AA members who have not yet achieved sobriety, and "winners" for those who are staying sober. Were it not said by some of our local members who are quick to claim several years' sobriety, I would be less appalled. I hope "losers" does not become general usage.
