Yes, But . . .

SEVERAL YEARS ago, I sat in a weekly meeting listening to the despair of one member of our group who kept slipping and struggling with the program. Try as he might, this man could not stay sober for any length of time. As I sat and listened to him, I asked myself, "Why do the other members of this group stay sober, but not him? What is it that they have that fosters serene sobriety, while this one poor guy keeps returning to the booze?"
