When Negatives Creep in

AS I APPROACHED my third sober birthday, I was feeling good about myself and about the people and the events around me. I had made it through my first year of erratic ups and downs, even a bad depression in my thirteenth month, without a drink. The next two years had passed without serious incident. I was active in my home group, chairing, leading, and working with newcomers. I had applied for a better job and felt I had a good chance of getting it.
