A Swinger Gets Sober

IT WASN'T hard for me to accept Step One--that my life was unmanageable, that I was powerless over alcohol. I no longer had fun with drinking; I had become incapable of even wanting to go out and swing once I began my four o'clock cocktail hour. I was no longer proud that I was a schoolteacher and had worked hard for my B.S. and M.S. degrees while caring for three small children, a home, and a husband.
