Who's an amateur?
With regard to Tradition Eight--"Alcoholics Anonymous should remain forever nonprofessional . . ."--the opposite of professional is amateur. And the original meaning of amateur is one who does something for love. In this sense, I think most AAs are amateurs, doing what they do in AA out of love for the program and love for fellow alcoholics.
