In God's Time
THE FIRST spring of my sobriety, I was getting very impatient for the AA program to work for me. I wasn't drinking, but I was nowhere nearly as well as the other women I saw. I didn't feel the serenity and peace of mind they talked about, and I still panicked at every broken shoestring. Then, God gave me a lesson I will never forget.
