I Never Noticed the Rainbows

A tough job decision showed her that changes bring opportunities

THE SPECTACULAR beauty that surrounds the Pali highway passed unnoticed as I inched my car through traffic toward Honolulu. The morning rush hour had really been irritating lately. It only added to the pressure I felt. I knew that glancing every few minutes at my wristwatch would not speed up the flow of traffic, but I continued to watch the hands tick away the morning hour. My nerves were raw; my stomach burned with acid from too much coffee; and my throat felt dry from my heavy cigarette smoking. I wondered if my mind kept reviewing the same question: "Should I quit my job today?"
