On fear and fellowship
The article "Just Being There" (March Grapevine) reminded me of when I was just starting out in AA, at three months, when I first chaired a meeting. That night, I was really scared. Along with chairing my first meeting, I was scheduled to have surgery soon. I told a couple of people ahead of time, so whenever I messed up and needed some help, two old-timers were in the front row, to give me some prompting and understanding ad libs.
