It has been seventeen weeks and six days since I lost my wife to cancer, and seventeen weeks and one day since I laid her remains to rest. Yet in this relatively short time, I have recovered again--from the greatest loss I have ever suffered as yet in my seventy years of living. I have recovered as I did from the loss of two wives and three children in divorce, and the loss of my physical, mental, and spiritual health to alcoholism. Thanks be to God and AA that all these recoveries have been made possible.
