Quiet, Unassuming Power
We can't explain <emphasis type="underline">how</emphasis> it works but meetings are <emphasis type="underline">where</emphasis> it works
FIVE YEARS AGO, I sat next to a beautiful but emotionally wrecked young man--a newcomer--at his first open AA meeting. When the time came for us to close in the usual way, we all held hands to say the Lord's Prayer. He was visibly touched--both by the physical contact and by the emotional content of the meeting. Halfway through the prayer, he broke down in great sobs. After the prayer ended, he was still clasping my hand tightly and was trying to explain his tears.
