I would like to share my experience of my first assembly, where GSRs (general service representatives) and DCMs (district committee members) get together from all over the state to carry the message from their groups on matters affecting AA in Virginia. My sponsor was a GSR when I was relatively new in AA, and he asked me to go along with him to the spring assembly. I agreed, but only to get away for the weekend.
