Walking the Walk

AS A NEWCOMER to AA, I was fortunate to be surrounded by old-timers who were actively carrying the massage to alcoholics in institutions and had been doing so for many years. These wonderful people took me by the hand and guided me through the door of many detoxes, jails, Bowery residences, and rehabs. Wherever they went, I willingly tagged along, still shaky in my newfound sobriety.
