The Kid With the Strawberry Hair

Different" people and "new" ideas were part of AA from the beginning

I WENT TO a meeting last night and was interested in a new young man who was trembling in his seat, having a helluva time holding his hand steady with a cup of hot coffee, and having just as hard a time making his quavering voice steady as he told us he was new. His skin was pale as milk from living at night, and his black shirt and black pants somehow looked as if he'd been sleeping on chalk. But the thing that intrigued me most was his hair--it was dyed strawberry.
