Once Over Lightly

MUCH GRATITUDE to A. C. of Kauai Island, Hawaii, for the loan of a joke book containing many new anecdotes. Here are a few of them: At a convention cocktail party in St. Louis, the delegates were standing around, drinks in hand, when a series of small earthquakes shook the city. Everyone was terrified except one chap who announced calmly, "I'm from San Francisco. During earthquakes, we find the best place to stand is in a doorway."
