SPEAKING OF LYING: Here's a story about a newspaper reporter who celebrated, with several six-packs, the return of his wife and newborn baby boy from the hospital. The next morning, in alcoholic ill health, he couldn't face going to work. Phoning his editor from home, he stated that he was at City Hall, in the dusty basement of the Department of Records, where he would be spending the day digging up material for an article.
