Sense and nonsense on the road to recovery

ON THE SAME TOPIC of deceit, G. A. of California tells about a certain garbage collector who was overcome with curiosity because at one of his stops, week after week, the refuse can was full of uneaten stalks of celery. Determined to find out why, he took time on his day off to follow the man of the house. The latter went to a neighborhood liquor store, came out carrying a bag, then entered a nearby grocery store, and reappeared with two stalks of celery sticking out of the sack--returning home with what looked like an innocent bag of groceries.
