I CAME TO AA because I was "sick and tired of being sick and tired." By not drinking and by going to a lot of meetings, I achieved the sort of dryness that made it unnecessary to drink--and also unnecessary to discard most of my old ideas and conceptions. I picked a "sponsor" who supported that system.
