A Home Where I'm Always Welcome

At her first young people's convention, she met brothers and sisters from all over the world

NEW YORK CITY is where I live, but Alcoholics Anonymous is my home. In 1982, this city was chosen to host the Twenty-Fifth International Conference of Young People in AA. I had been looking forward to it for a while, as it was to be my first AA conference and my first young people's conference. When it began, I was amazed to see how big my family had grown, with all my new sober brothers and sisters from around the world.
