The courage of V. R. in "A Swinger Gets Sober" (October Grapevine) in describing the relation of her alcoholism to the sexual problem has given me courage to share my story. In April 1974, I walked into my first AA meeting, not realizing that I was starting to drink myself into oblivion but knowing I was at the end of my rope with my sexual obsession. A prostitute had told me about AA and the twenty questions. She answered nineteen yes, and said she was not an alcoholic; I answered three yes, and knew I was.
