I am eighty years old. I joined the first AA group in Memphis, Tennessee, at the old YMCA Building, in August 1943. I believe there is one other survivor of that group of thirty-nine. I traveled ninety-three miles each Friday night to meetings. Through the years, we have organized many groups in North Mississippi, and I attend two meetings a week regularly.
