Arctic Circle Alcoholic

GREETINGS from the far North. I am now a member of an AA group thirty miles north of the Arctic Circle in Kotzebue, Alaska, a large Eskimo village. I'm working as an alcoholism counselor in an eight-bed recovery center here. On November 26, 1982, the Eskimos helped me celebrate my twentieth AA birthday. They presented me with a hand-carved ivory ring with "AA-20" carved into it. Beautiful! A lot of cheer and many tears went into those twenty years.
