The Bottom Line

EARLY IN MY AA life, I used to hear people with some years of sobriety tell me that as long as I didn't take a drink that day, I was a winner. In my glorious self-righteousness--which I didn't even know I had until some time later--I would think, "But that's not enough. I want to grow--reach great spiritual heights. Certainly, these folks must not be working their programs!"
