"Which Came First, the Drink or the Disease?" is one of the most insightful articles on the disease of alcoholism I have ever read. Being relatively new in the program, I found it very heartening to hear someone with E. E.'s sobriety reinforcing my belief that I am not an alcoholic because I drank too much. Rather, I drank too much because I have a disease called alcoholism.
