Responsibility (Noun): The Ability to Respond

I LEFT MY first AA meeting with a pile of pamphlets handed to me by someone who I thought then was an overzealous convert, and I could not help but notice the words "I am responsible . . . " printed on several of them. As I continued to come around, I began to hear those words used often at meetings by speakers who were describing what they had become as a result of not drinking and of following the AA way of life.
