One foggy February night, a drunk skidded off the road, successfully missed several roadside obstacles, and ran into a building--a clubhouse where several local AA groups meet. No one was injured, and the building was not seriously damaged. After all, he hit the first step--of our porch. We served coffee to the arresting officers, and the next morning replaced the porch supports. Business as usual. Another drunk finds his way to AA. We'd love to be there when he tells his story, and learn how he interprets his first encounter with AA.
