WHEN I FIRST came to Alcoholics Anonymous, I didn't grow from within. I grew outwardly, like a rolling snowball. The AA program? Nothing to it: Skim through the Big Book; recommend it to others for thorough study; memorize the Twelve Steps; and become a sham orator.
