The Outsider

THROUGHOUT my sobriety, I have lived in a small community. We have no slum area, very few minorities, and a low crime rate. We are a rather cloistered, affluent society; most of our AA members are high-bottom cases. I believed I had few prejudices, had accepted my fellow human beings, had ceased to be judgmental, and through AA had learned to love.
