Hanging in There

I CAME INTO AA completely beaten down by a disease I had vowed I would never have. You see, I had good examples of the disease. My father was an active alcoholic all my life as a child and most of it as an adult. He died at eighty-one with ten years of sobriety. Bless him for the last ten years; it was a beautiful heritage. My brother took his life through alcohol. That could never happen to me, I thought.
